SPACE Choir – Weekly Sessions
Following the launch of SPACE Choir, we are now moving into our regular weekly session format, with sessions taking place every Tuesday from 8th September 2026, 6pm–7pm.
SPACE Choir is a youth show choir for young people aged 11–18, bringing together singers who want to develop their voices, build their confidence and experience the excitement of performing as part of an ensemble.
Our repertoire will be varied, exciting and contemporary, combining musical theatre, pop and modern songs, alongside material chosen specifically to challenge and develop the group.
SPACE Choir is about much more than learning songs. Our sessions are designed to develop confident, versatile young performers who understand how to communicate with an audience and work together to create exciting live performances.
What happens at SPACE?
Weekly sessions will include:
🎤 Vocal technique – developing healthy, confident singing, including breathing, projection, tone, range, harmony and ensemble singing.
🌟 Performance coaching – learning how to move beyond simply singing the notes and really communicate a song to an audience.
🎭 Stagecraft & performance skills – developing stage presence, movement, expression, characterisation and confidence on stage.
🎶 Harmony & ensemble singing – learning to create the exciting vocal sound that comes from singing and performing together.
💫 Musical interpretation – exploring lyrics, storytelling, dynamics and emotion to discover what makes a performance connect with an audience.
🕺 Movement & staging – incorporating choreography, movement and creative staging where appropriate to bring our repertoire to life.
🎧 Contemporary repertoire – working on an ever-changing programme of musical theatre, pop and modern music.
🤝 Confidence & teamwork – creating an inclusive environment where young performers can take risks, develop new skills, make friends and support one another.
Performance is at the heart of SPACE
SPACE Choir will be underpinned and driven by live music and vocal performance.
We don’t want to spend months rehearsing without giving our members the opportunity to perform. Our aim is to create a choir that regularly gets out in front of audiences.
Each year, we plan to stage at least two major shows or productions, alongside a programme of public performances, community events, corporate engagements and other live opportunities.
Some performances will involve the whole choir, while others may provide opportunities for smaller groups, featured singers and soloists as our members develop.
Above all, we want SPACE Choir to be somewhere young people can develop their talent, grow in confidence, make friends and experience the buzz of creating great live music together.
SING. PERFORM. CREATE. BELONG.
